Super Bowl 2020

Who's ready for the Puppy Bowl - oh and Super Bowl!

In our house we're already watching the pre game for the Puppy Bowl. It's adoptable dogs who will all be adopted through the game. You can catch it all on the Discover Channel.


I spent most of yesterday getting things ready for today. I wanted to keep it simple, and fun!!! Take a look at some of the plant based food we will be serving, games and the links to printables. Here are the links to the printable games I found.







Rescue Puppies

Snacks are a big part of Super Bowl. I like to avoid deep fried and unhealthy snacks so I opt for some healthier options like shishito peppers, vegan chili, and hummus and veggies.

Shishito peppers -

1 bag shishito peppers

1 tsp rock salt

Oil to spray pan (I used avocado oil)

I also made my favorite dip but I think its too think for the soft peppers. Its better with veggies or on salad -


1 Avocado Smashed until totally smooth

2 tbs fresh squeezed lemon juice

1 tsp dill or as much as you want of fresh dill

salt and pepper - just a dash


Spray the pan, add the peppers. Cook until a bit burnt. Add a little salt & pepper and serve topped with fresh chopped cilantro.

Vegan Chili

1 425g can of each

whole tomatoes

black beans

white beans

diced tomatoes

dark red kidney beans

1 cup cooked quinoa

1 head kale

1/2 orange pepper

1/2 yellow onion

2 peeled cloves garlic

1 tbs Organic Agave

1 Simply Organics Spicy Chili mix

Fresh cilantro to add to the top when serving


Chop the onion & garlic and add to the pot to cook until the onion is clear. Spray the pot with a little cooking oil to avoid sticking.

Cook the quinoa according to the directions.

Wash and chop the kale. I remove the think center and chop in my food processor.

Add all the canned food, kale, quinoa, and seasoning.

I add about 1/2 cup water and add if needed as it cooks.

Cook until on med - low until all ingredients are fully cooked. You can cook it on low for an hour or two if you want or put into a slow cooker.

If you want to make your own seasoning

1 1/2 tbs sweet paprika

1 tsp organic onion powder

1 1/2 green chili seasoning

1 1/2 tsb garlic salt

1 tsb salt

1 tbs pepper

Veggies and homemade Hummus

Grab all the veggies you like from your local farmers market and chop them up.


1 can chickpeas

3 cloves garlic

herbs - parsley and dill

1/2 lemon squeezed

1 tsp Himalayan salt

1 tsp pepper

2 Tbs EVOO or Avocado Oil.

Drain the chick peas and discard any skins that came off. Add all the ingredients to your food processor. Serve with the veggies! S0 EASY! I like to add a little spice to the top and a dash of oil.
